The Why

A vision of “The Buzz” came to the custodian, Karina Konupek, in a dream in Oct 2023 and opened in its current incarnation in late Nov 2023.

Dedicated to Hana Konupek (Karina’s Mother) who is a loving Grandmother as well as an avid creator (sewing /crafting/ cooking/ instructing in dance) did so mostly from obligation and need. Now struggling through debilitating Dementia, she never really allowed herself the time, relaxation or freedom to “PLAY”. Having defected from their homeland, the family goal was to survive and blend in, so play was not a big part of that.

As Karina began to care for her mom, she watched as Hana could no longer do what she loved and the OPTION to play had now ended. Witnessing this devastation and observing that in her own life “play” was more about spiritual and financial survival rather than from a desire to play, Karina’s insight to bring play and engage in natural curiosity to those who have forgotten its impact on the soul, mind and overall health!

When the vision of The BUZZ was bestowed upon Karina, she knew exactly WHY! The mission of creating a community space that is a HAVEN to the spirit and removes ALL excuses for adults to PLAY! Please join her in the sandbox she created for you!
